Book Update!!

Okay! So I'm doing my book update today along with that review!! I realized that it's been a couple of weeks since I've posted on here....:/ But hopefully I'll remember to post more often now! So I finally finished House of Hades the other day!!!! It should not have taken me that long! I'm planning on starting Blood of Olympus today!! Hopefully it doesn't take me two months to read this one!! I finished The Prophecy of the Stones today so the only one I'm in the middle of at the moment until I start Blood of Olympus is The Maze Runner by James Dashner which I'm reading for the second time :) I'm currently on page 210 out of 374 :D So my friend Sierra tagged me in a book tag yesterday so hopefully I'll post that tomorrow!!

Review! The Prophecy of the Stones by Flavia Bujor

Okay, so I've officially decided that I'm just going to start over with the reviews and not write reviews for those other ten that I was supposed to...I just finished this book about an hour ago and I have quite a bit to say about it!
The Prophecy of the Stones
About the book: In a magical realm, three teenage girls - Jade, Opal, and Amber - are chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Although they meet as strangers, they must learn to trust one another with their lives as they embark on an epic journey, armed only with magical stones. On the day of their fourteenth birthdays, they set out on a quest that will require them to leave their homes and families to face fierce enemies in an effort to save an enchanted land called Fairytale, where magic reigns and evil is unknown.
At the same time, in a parallel world, a young girl named Joa fights for her life in a hospital bed in Paris. While she is dreaming, she is transported to a magical realm where three young heroines fight a spectacular battle. Their success or failure will determine the fate of Fairytale ... and Joa's survival.

Pages: 386

Genre(s): Fantasy

Age range: 12+

POV: Changes from third person, Jade, Opal, and Amber - Main characters, 14, third person, The Nameless One - Main character (I think), 18, and first person, Joa - Main character, 14

Stars: 4/5

Review: Okay, so first of all, this book was written by a thirteen-year-old girl which is one of the reasons I was interested in this book in the first place. I think the idea for this story was a good one, but there were multiple things that made me not like the book as much as I could've. In the very beginning of the book Jade annoyed me pretty badly and I've honestly never had a character annoy me before! Then the story went on to have Opal, who's fourteen, fall in love with a sixteen year old who ends up kissing her. It was also a "love at first sight" type and I personally don't like that kind of relationship. There was another "love at first sight" relationship between Amber and The Nameless One who's eighteen which I really didn't like very much just because of the age difference...I also got really confused by the ending...I'm going to assume Joa lives, at least for a little longer, but the way it ended it almost seemed like it could've been either way...

New Books!!!!

Hi! Sorry I haven't posted in so long!!! First, we were visiting family and it's kinda hard to post on a book blog without the books! Now my nieces and nephew (Arianna, Leah, and Jaeson) are visiting for about three weeks (only one more week to go!) so I keep forgetting to post...I finally remembered at almost 4 in the morning that I need to post a pic and list of all the new books that I bought at a thrift store while looking for baby clothes for my niece (my sister's first baby!) who's due this month!!! Just had to add that!! This picture is a little bigger than they usually are so that you can actually see the covers of the books... So from left to right, I got Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson (I have a feeling I'm gonna end up getting teary eyed reading this one...), Doll Bones by Holly Black (Creepy story!), Cinderella Stays Late by Joan Holub (Book 1 in the Grimmtastic Girls series), Heaven to Betsy by Maud Hart Lovelace (Book 5 in the Betsy-Tacy series), Twister on Tuesday, Christmas in Camelot, Haunted Castle on Hallow's Eve, Moonlight on the Magic Flute, and Dogs in the Dead of Night by Mary Pope Osborne (Books 23, 29, 30, 41, and 46 in the Magic Tree House series), My Life in Pink and Green by Lisa Greenwald (Book 1 in the Pink and Green series), The Sea Trolls by Nancy Farmer (Book 1 in the Sea of Trolls series), Partners in Crime by Kim Harrington (Book 1 in the Sleuth or Dare series), Star in the Forest by Laura Resau, and If the Shoe Fits by Sarah Mlynowski (Book 2 in the Whatever After series) :) I still have to add all of these into my book jar!!
