Happy New Year!!!!!!

Okay, so new year, new attitude towards blogging on time! XD I'm going to change my attempt from posting every day to just posting on the weekends if I can....Because I am determined to stay caught up in my schoolwork this semester and I'll never end up posting on the weekdays anyway unless I'm wide awake and really bored with nothing else to do and have the want to write....XD So, I meant to write a post with all of the books I read in November, and I started it, but I never finished it and it's too late now....so I'm gonna post a December Read post this weekend! My friend Sierra from 26 Countless Possibilities  tagged me in a Goodreads Tag so I'll post that one tomorrow! :D

*******

I just realized that I need to show off my beautiful books that I got for Christmas!!

The one in the center is Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes by Rick Riordan! I obviously love everything Percy Jackson, so I have pretty high expectations for this book! The one above Greek Heroes is Disney Lands by Ridley Pearson! It's the first book in the series Kingdom Keepers: The Return which is a sequel series to the Kingdom Keepers! The book on the left is Storm of Lightning by Richard Paul Evans!! It's the fifth book in the Michael Vey series and I can't wait to read it!!!!!!! I'm soooo excited for it!!!!! Finally, the book on the right is Path of Stars by Erin Hunter! It's the last book in the Warriors: Dawn of the Clans series and I'm really curious to see how they end it! (I'm also really excited about the new Warriors series that will be coming out this year!!)

*******

Since I have this post already open, I'll add which books I'm currently reading! I'm currently in the middle of four cause that's apparently just how I roll.....XD

Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes

The first book I'm reading is Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes by Rick Riordan! This one is about the Greek Heroes like Perseus, Jason, and Atalanta and so far it's really good! I love Percy's comments! I'm currently on page 92 out of 412!

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)

The second book I'm reading is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare! City of Bones is the first book in The Mortal Instruments series! I actually got the first four books in this series for Christmas too, but I don't currently have a pic which really stinks because the covers are amazing!! I'll have to add a pic on another post one day! I'm currently only on page 60 out of 485.......but I plan on reading more of it soon!!!

The Menagerie (Menagerie, #1)

The third book I'm reading is The Menagerie by Tui T. Sutherland and Kari Sutherland! This one is the first book in the Menagerie series! The Menagerie is a book that I got from my library's e-book library! I'm a huge fan of the e-book library since we don't go to the library as much since my dad doesn't get off from work until it's too late to make it to the library most days and I haven't gotten my permit yet! (I'm working on it though!!) I actually don't know how far in page-wise or percentage-wise I am in this book since the e-book version doesn't tell me, which is my only complaint about the e-book library so far.... But I do know that I'm on chapter 10 out of 34!

Pride and Prejudice

The last book that I'm currently reading is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen! I was supposed to read this one for school but I didn't get the chance to finish it before I had to take it back to the library... And I really enjoyed what I had read so I decided to get it on my Kindle to finish it! I love that the Kindle store gives you the classics for free!! I don't know what it is about this book that makes me enjoy it so much considering there are some words that I have to look up because I'm not sure what they mean.... I think it's the way it's worded.....Now that I'm older I actually appreciate (it took me a minute to think of that word......this is what I get for writing a blog post at two in the morning....) the older style of writing more.....It's part of what made me fall in love with Anne of Green Gables when I read it a second time a few months ago!

*******

Okay, lastly before I finish this blog post.....I'm going to attempt to do a 2016 reading challenge that I found on Facebook! It's a checklist with twelve prompts for books (one for each month) and I already have the books I want to read put into the calendar on my phone! This month's book prompt is "A Book I Should've Read For School" which is going to be Pride and Prejudice since I've started it and I was supposed to read it last year! Okay! That's it for now! I'll try and post more this weekend!!

~Allie~

BTW - I tried out a thing to divide my post into different parts with the little star things (whose name escapes me...) and I really like how it looks, so I think I'll use it from now on when I have multiple different things to say!

BTW #2 - If you got any books or book related things for Christmas, I would love to hear about it if you want to comment and tell me!

Book Update!

Okay, so it's been almost a week since I posted last......in my defense, I had no idea what to post....but I'm going to attempt to get back on my usual schedule with this blog, which means book update today! I might as well not even mention Blood of Olympus and Hunt for Jade Dragon in this one because they haven't been opened once......It's absolutely terrible, I know! I hate that I'm not in the mood to read either of them! So, as for The Maze of Bones, I finished that one this past Thursday! I gave it 5/5 stars on my Goodreads account! I really love these books.... Anyway, after The Maze of Bones, I started the book Schooled by Gordan Korman (one of my favorite authors!) which was 224 pages long and I finished it Friday :) And then yesterday I started and finished Wellspring of Magic by Jan Fields which was only 120 pages long! I probably won't do reviews on those two so I'll just say that I gave both of them 4/5 stars on Goodreads! Last night I started a book called The Cypher by Julian Rosado-Machain! I think it's 238 pages long, but I'm reading it as an e-book on my Kindle/phone so I'm not entirely sure! I'm 42% through it right now though!

~Allie~
BTW - I completely forgot about the photo challenge that I said I was going to post, so starting tomorrow I'll be posting them along with my posts!! Also, I couldn't read the font on my posts very well so I'm trying out a new font! Hopefully this one's easier to read!

I'm back again!!! For real this time!!!

Okay, so it's totally been over a month since I last posted....Being away in Indiana for over a month and Kentucky for a week apparently makes you completely forget the existence of your blogs.....it wasn't until I got home last Monday that I realized I have blogs, and I would've posted sooner but it's been a busy week!! (And I must admit, every time I decide that I can stop doing schoolwork for the day and that I can work on my blogs, I'm usually too tired to pull my blogs up...) So, I'm going to make this post a book update, a new books announcement, and I'm also gonna use it to show off some of my picture edits that I made using my Picsart app on my phone! So, as for book updates, I'm currently reading three books....I'm still in the middle of The Blood of Olympus.....I forgot to pack it in my bag so it stayed at home sitting next to my bed for a month....and I still have yet to open it up because I haven't been in the mood to read it yet...anyway, forget my excuses! I'm currently on page 330 out of 516, which is a little over halfway through! The second book on my currently reading list is Hunt For Jade Dragon by Richard Paul Evans :) It's the fourth book in the amazing Michael Vey series that I love so much and I can't wait to see what happens! I'm on page 22 out of 320 which is less than ten percent through....XD Unfortunately, I haven't been in a mood to read this one lately either which is the reason for a third book in my currently reading list...Finally, the book I'm actually currently reading is The Maze of Bones which is also by Rick Riordan! This is the first book in The 39 Clues series and I've read it before but I really enjoyed this series and I was actually in a mood to read this one! I'm currently on page 107 of 224 (yes, it's small!!) and I'm sure I'll be further in before I actually go to sleep tonight! The only problem with this picture is because Hunt for Jade Dragon and Blood of Olympus look extremely pink and they're really not! Especially Hunt for Jade Dragon! It's a really awesome looking red and gold!!

Now on to the new books announcement!! And I'll also show off my Picsart edits!! So I got a lot of new books while I was in Indiana and Kentucky!! The first group of books I got were from Goodwill XD So from left to right on the top row are The Angel Experiment by James Patterson which is the first book in the Maximum Ride series (I can't wait to read this one! And I love the bright blue title!!), a special edition book by Emily Rodda which has the first four books of her series Deltora Quest (The Forests of Silence, The Lake of Tears, City of the Rats, and The Shifting Sands) in one book (I've already read this one and it was really good and I need to get the next ones from the library!), and Charlie Bone and the Beast by Jenny Nimmo which is the sixth book in The Children of the Red King series! (I've already read this one too, but I like buying books that I really liked so that I can read them again if I want to, especially if I already own part of the set!) The two on the bottom row from left to right are Beyond the Deepwoods by Paul Stewart which is book one in The Edge Chronicles and The Shadow World by Jane Johnson which is book two in the Eidolon Chronicles! (Yes, I bought a sequel to a book I've never read before....it sounded good enough that I decided I'd just get the first one from the library when I could!)
The other set of books that I bought were from the half price book store in Kentucky! The bottom two are Eldest and Brisingr by Christopher Paolini! They're books two and three in The Inheritance Cycle and I can't wait to read them! Finally, the top two books are The Testing and Independent Study by Joelle Charbonneau which are books one and two in The Testing series! Another series I can't wait to read!
Finally, I just had to add the awesome color pop picture of my wonderful Michael Vey book! That's one of my favorite picture edits that I've done so far!
BTW - My friend Sierra showed me a picture challenge today where you take a different pic of books for each day of November! Starting tomorrow, I'm going to post the pics on my blog! Night!!

Book Update!!

Okay! So I'm doing my book update today along with that review!! I realized that it's been a couple of weeks since I've posted on here....:/ But hopefully I'll remember to post more often now! So I finally finished House of Hades the other day!!!! It should not have taken me that long! I'm planning on starting Blood of Olympus today!! Hopefully it doesn't take me two months to read this one!! I finished The Prophecy of the Stones today so the only one I'm in the middle of at the moment until I start Blood of Olympus is The Maze Runner by James Dashner which I'm reading for the second time :) I'm currently on page 210 out of 374 :D So my friend Sierra tagged me in a book tag yesterday so hopefully I'll post that tomorrow!!

Review! The Prophecy of the Stones by Flavia Bujor

Okay, so I've officially decided that I'm just going to start over with the reviews and not write reviews for those other ten that I was supposed to...I just finished this book about an hour ago and I have quite a bit to say about it!
The Prophecy of the Stones
About the book: In a magical realm, three teenage girls - Jade, Opal, and Amber - are chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Although they meet as strangers, they must learn to trust one another with their lives as they embark on an epic journey, armed only with magical stones. On the day of their fourteenth birthdays, they set out on a quest that will require them to leave their homes and families to face fierce enemies in an effort to save an enchanted land called Fairytale, where magic reigns and evil is unknown.
At the same time, in a parallel world, a young girl named Joa fights for her life in a hospital bed in Paris. While she is dreaming, she is transported to a magical realm where three young heroines fight a spectacular battle. Their success or failure will determine the fate of Fairytale ... and Joa's survival.

Pages: 386

Genre(s): Fantasy

Age range: 12+

POV: Changes from third person, Jade, Opal, and Amber - Main characters, 14, third person, The Nameless One - Main character (I think), 18, and first person, Joa - Main character, 14

Stars: 4/5

Review: Okay, so first of all, this book was written by a thirteen-year-old girl which is one of the reasons I was interested in this book in the first place. I think the idea for this story was a good one, but there were multiple things that made me not like the book as much as I could've. In the very beginning of the book Jade annoyed me pretty badly and I've honestly never had a character annoy me before! Then the story went on to have Opal, who's fourteen, fall in love with a sixteen year old who ends up kissing her. It was also a "love at first sight" type and I personally don't like that kind of relationship. There was another "love at first sight" relationship between Amber and The Nameless One who's eighteen which I really didn't like very much just because of the age difference...I also got really confused by the ending...I'm going to assume Joa lives, at least for a little longer, but the way it ended it almost seemed like it could've been either way...

Book Pic!!!

Okay! So today I'm just gonna post a random book pic that I love! It's a pretty simple post, but it helps separate what I post every day!! I saved a lot of these pics off of pages I follow on Facebook... So here ya go! Random book pic that I really like both because of the saying and the look!!

New Books!!!!

Hi! Sorry I haven't posted in so long!!! First, we were visiting family and it's kinda hard to post on a book blog without the books! Now my nieces and nephew (Arianna, Leah, and Jaeson) are visiting for about three weeks (only one more week to go!) so I keep forgetting to post...I finally remembered at almost 4 in the morning that I need to post a pic and list of all the new books that I bought at a thrift store while looking for baby clothes for my niece (my sister's first baby!) who's due this month!!! Just had to add that!! This picture is a little bigger than they usually are so that you can actually see the covers of the books... So from left to right, I got Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson (I have a feeling I'm gonna end up getting teary eyed reading this one...), Doll Bones by Holly Black (Creepy story!), Cinderella Stays Late by Joan Holub (Book 1 in the Grimmtastic Girls series), Heaven to Betsy by Maud Hart Lovelace (Book 5 in the Betsy-Tacy series), Twister on Tuesday, Christmas in Camelot, Haunted Castle on Hallow's Eve, Moonlight on the Magic Flute, and Dogs in the Dead of Night by Mary Pope Osborne (Books 23, 29, 30, 41, and 46 in the Magic Tree House series), My Life in Pink and Green by Lisa Greenwald (Book 1 in the Pink and Green series), The Sea Trolls by Nancy Farmer (Book 1 in the Sea of Trolls series), Partners in Crime by Kim Harrington (Book 1 in the Sleuth or Dare series), Star in the Forest by Laura Resau, and If the Shoe Fits by Sarah Mlynowski (Book 2 in the Whatever After series) :) I still have to add all of these into my book jar!!

BTW - I will be starting school again on the 10th so I might not be able to post some days :'(

Book Update - A Forest Divided by Erin Hunter (Book 5 in the Warriors: Dawn of the Clans series) - Pg. 31 out of 335! (Chapter 2 out of 25!) : House of Hades - Same spot as before...........
